PEG 400, or Polyethylene Glycol 400, is a polyol that is functionally 100% active. It is a clear, odorless, and viscous liquid that is made up of two primary hydroxyl groups which can undergo typical alcohol reactions to form monoesters, diesters, ethers and acetals. PEG 400 is also hydrophilic and is soluble in water, acetone, alcohols, glycols and aromatic hydrocarbons.
